In an era where artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming industries and our daily lives, Jeremy Victor and Rick Dzavik (LinkedIn)remind us of the importance of embracing our humanity. In their recent podcast episode, the duo explores how AI can coexist alongside uniquely human traits, contributing to everyday life, business, and leadership.

Introduction to the Podcast

Good morning! I’m Jeremy Victor, your host at the Business at the Speed of AI podcast. Together with regular contributor Rick Dzavik, we dive into the realm of artificial intelligence, exploring how it influences who we are and what we do. In this episode, we also celebrate the release of my new book, “The More Effect: Thriving in the Age of AI”, a guide that emphasizes not losing sight of our uniquely human traits amidst the AI revolution.

The Essence of the More Effect

The essence of “The More Effect” is to encourage individuals to focus on traits that make us uniquely human. The motivation for writing the book didn’t stem from a desire to publish but from a sudden vacancy of mental space after ten years of coaching a travel soccer team. As I redirected my focus from soccer to writing, it became essential to capture the transformative influences of AI on our modern lives and the corporate world. The book lays the framework for a “human code” that ensures we preserve the core of what makes us human.

Interactions in the Age of AI

Rick and I explored the difference between past technological advancements, like the internet, and today’s developments in AI. We noted that while the internet improved communication speed, AI is about reducing friction in interactions. AI has the potential to offer seamless service experiences, but it’s vital for businesses to disclose when they’re using AI. Transparency maintains trust and authenticity in interactions while enabling businesses to deliver concierge-like experiences.

Human-Centered Leadership

In exploring human-centered leadership, we discuss how leaders must account for the humanity within every employee. Life is fraught with challenges, but with resilience and adaptability, individuals can navigate these obstacles. Jeremy shares his personal journey, highlighting his experiences and the constant “life is struggle” mindset. This mindset propels us to adapt and persevere through challenges.

Embracing Courage, Hope, and Optimism

Jeremy’s nickname, “Chop”, symbolizes Courage, Hope, Optimism, and Pursuit—all traits that provide him with direction and motivation. Inspired by his mother’s gift of a guidebook during a challenging period, these traits have served as his guiding star. Much like trees that continue reaching for new heights, we, too, must strive and grow amidst life’s challenges.

Conclusion

As AI continues to reshape our world, embracing what makes us uniquely human—our creativity, empathy, and resilience—is more critical than ever. Jeremy and Rick emphasize that while AI handles automation, humans should focus on valuable and meaningful interactions.

Join us in the next episode of the Business at the Speed of AI, where we continue to explore this dynamic interplay between AI and humanity. Until then, let’s all find courage, hope, and optimism in our daily lives and remember that every challenge is an opportunity to become more than we were before.
